Canadian Citizens or Permanent residents may sponsor their spouse, dependent children, parents, grandparents and in some special circumstances siblings or other relatives too. However, they may have to meet some financial and other necessary criteria to be eligible to sponsor. The sponsored person may also have to fulfill their eligibility criteria and also undergo medical examination and must not be inadmissible to Canada under any criminal grounds.
